Mission Statement

Fenergo is a popular KYC platform used in a growing number of Financial and Corporate Services firms, including many of our clients.

The main problems for those adopting Fenergo are ;

• Fenergo is a SaaS platform so all data interactions must be via API which requires data technical expertise, and

• Their existing data is often in a combination of legacy platforms, spreadsheets, PDFs and Word documents

Continuum are entrusted by a large Corporate Services Provider to migrate and consolidate their critical risk and compliance data from their current platforms to Fenergo.
This involves moving complex datasets for over 100,000 entities across many jurisdictions, each requiring significant transformation to align with the structural differences between the systems.
Given the scale and complexity, a typical manual process using Excel would be too labour-intensive and time-consuming and posed a significant risk of errors. 

Our Alteryx skills and tools allow us to provide a repeatable process that transforms existing data and content into the correct format for populating Fenergo via its well defined API’s, and then to reconcile the successful migration.
We build a repeatable data upload and reconciliation that prevents duplications and out of date data being pushed into Fenergo, a common problem with system migrations and upgrades.

This project continues to be so successful that it is used as a reference project by Fenergo themselves, leading to new clients for us.

Alteryx Designer + Server, Fenergo APIs

Alteryx reads all data from the Current KYC Platform, then apply auditable mappings and business rules to either upload to Fenergo or Archive

One of our huge advantages using Alteryx in every migration is that we use our migration logic to reconcile the old data against the new system, in this case Fenergo, just by reversing the API connector to Fenergo.

Test validation - Our migration logic is now repurposed to ensure that not only did we move the data correctly, but it is still correct in UAT.

Detailed Solution

Our team begins by connecting to the previous systems’ APIs and file stores to extract data in JSON format.
Our Alteryx workflow efficiently converts these JSON files into object files, preparing the data for the subsequent transformation phase. 

Once the data is prepped, it is transformed.
This includes cleansing the data, renaming fields, and executing mapping operations to align the data with Fenergo's requirements.
We also build data hierarchies to accommodate the structural differences between the old and new systems.
All these processes are automated in Alteryx, ensuring that the output is perfectly structured for seamless import into Fenergo every time. 

Alteryx then pushes the transformed data into Fenergo via its APIs, with errors flagged for review to ensure data integrity. 

To ensure the success of the migration, we conduct multiple dummy runs into the UAT environment, rigorously testing the entire migration workflow.
Wherever issues arise, we refine the Alteryx workflows to address them, ensuring that every aspect of the migration is flawless. 

All data is either successfully migrated to Fenergo or archived, with a full audit train and every entity and relationship preserved intact.
