Unified Group Management Information
Fractured Group MI reporting is a consistent problem across Continuum clients.
In this use case a fund administrator client’s business grew very rapidly by acquiring other smaller organisations, having teams and organisations across multiple jurisdictions, including Luxembourg which couldn’t share network infrastructure - issues that are common theme across the industry.
They have a successful WhereScape RED data warehouse deployment, however many manual hours were spent debugging data errors introduced by other parts of the business who have different systems in different locations with data structured differently in each.
This process introduced numerous errors, repeated re-submissions and a consequent lack of confidence in reported figures.
A traditional approach would be to enforce a common reporting template, but the disparity between the organisations leads to additional errors – a software company has different metrics to a corporate services business!
Continuum instead delivered an Alteryx Server Solution to allow a centralised reporting solution whilst keeping data format and quality the responsibility of the submitting organisation…
Alteryx Designer users build individual apps and deploy to Alteryx Server for each business. Data submissions included Revenue, assets, budgets, KPI’s, KRI’s, Fund statistics
Users from the businesses log onto Alteryx Gallery portal and upload their data in their own format to the web page
The user validates their submission, and should the data not conform to expected format it is rejected, and a list of errors is returned to business user
If data is accepted it is transformed to a universal format and written to the load tables in the group data warehouse ready for automated processing
Group MI reporting is now confidently reported from the data warehouse with no manual effort
Continuum’s role evolved from building the first example workflows to providing productionisation and QA support to a position where the client is now self-sufficient
