James Balderson

James recently joined Continuum after returning from a gap year spent travelling, learning and pushing himself far outside his comfort zone.

During his travels, James spent a month living at the Buddhist monastery Plum Village, where he explored mindfulness, community living and a slower pace of life. He then spent three months in Costa Rica trekking across the country, helping build a classroom for the indigenous Cabécar community and gaining firsthand experience working in challenging environments. Most recently, James travelled to Thailand to train for his first Muay Thai fight - although an unfortunately timed broken toe meant the fight itself had to wait.

At Continuum, James brings curiosity, energy and a willingness to learn, supporting the team while developing his skills in data, technology and problem solving.

Outside of work, James enjoys travelling, good food (especially his dad’s lamb curry), and is always happy to recommend a Dark and Stormy. His go-to song is Get into the Groove by Madonna, and his current life philosophy is: “Don’t think, just ask Claude.”

His favourite place he’s visited so far? Hamburg - mainly because that’s where his girlfriend lives.
